The Latest APA Reflective Paper
The Latest APA Reflective PaperThe National Association of Chemical Dependency Evaluation (NACEED) recently released a report in response to the many questions surrounding its APA reflection paper. While the report discusses several of the concerns, it does not address them. NACEED did, however, review some of the information that is contained in the APA reflection paper and provide an update on the status of its implementation. There are many complaints about the APA reflection paper and it has been discussed extensively in blogs and discussion forums. One of the issues that is routinely brought up by individuals is the fact that only individuals with disabilities who have passed a state licensure exam must pass the test. The paper also does not have a passage rate that ranges from one hundred percent to ninety percent. In addition, there is a question about the validity of the data that has been collected. However, what is clear is that there is concern about the overall validity of the test. The APA reflects paper is comprised of multiple sections. The 'Creativity' section of the paper was created to make sure that there is no misunderstanding as to the purpose of the test and to ensure that all who take the test are clear about what the test is intended to accomplish. The section asks questions such as: What is your ability to focus and stay focused? What is your understanding of the creation process? The 'What is your ability to work on tasks independently?' section tests a person's ability to use both cognitive and emotional abilities to decide on a task to be completed, come up with an alternative and then complete the task successfully. The APA tests allow for the child to use language instead of vocabulary in answering the questions. The paper also does not have multiple choice or short answer questions, although there is a question which requires a person to express what they think is wrong with the way of life, change and society. The APA reflects paper i s only allowed to be used once during the entire course of instruction. The item was developed because of the concern that the lack of testing in schools was creating confusion among teachers and students about what the students were being taught. Another concern was that those without disabilities were not being tested in the school setting. After the APA reflection paper was developed, it became evident that there was a need for a pass/fail test in addition to the testing that is required. The design of the APA reflects paper was primarily meant to address concerns about the ability of people to learn to read, write and do math. However, as educators, it became apparent that there were other issues with the tests that were necessary to address. After the first version of the APA reflection paper was implemented, it was clear that there were problems with a few areas of the test. While the actual testing did not have much of an impact on the testing success of the test, the fact that there were problems with the initial formulation did. This resulted in the third version of the APA reflection paper which has been widely accepted by the APA as being an improvement over the previous versions. NACEED is working to make the test as transparent as possible so that educators, parents and other groups can use the test to determine how the APA reflects paper will affect their student.
